A College Student’s Review: Canon Powershot S95

When I was going off to college, my parents asked me what I wanted as a going away present. I’m a pretty simple girl, very practical, and didn’t want to ask for much. I’m not one of those spoiled brats asking mommy and daddy for a new Beamer.
I decided on a camera to capture all the moments in college, as I’ve always been told these are the best four years of your life. So my parents got me the awesome Canon Powershot S95.
Once on the campus of my college, I took pictures of the beautiful foliage, the mess of unpacking into my dorm room, the typical freshman orientation events (icebreakers haha…), new friends, and parties! I was meeting so many new people, and I basically turned into the girl that everyone looked to when they wanted their picture taken.
I fell in love with this camera, and it went everywhere with me. I’ve been racking up so many Facebook photo albums lately. I was addicted.
At first, I started as an accounting major in college. I found all the course work a total bore, so I needed a major that involved more creativity. When I found out about double majoring, I realized my AP credits from high school made such a course load more manageable and possible.
So I decided to double major in both photography and entrepreneurial studies. This was definitely the best decision I’ve made in college so far. I love photography so much thanks to this new camera. You see, I want to make a good living as I’m a go-getter, but at the same time I want to be able to utilize my new found creativity.
I don’t want to be tied down by a boss as I want to be my own boss.
Honestly, I wouldn’t be in such a position today if it weren’t for my mom and dad getting me that camera. Now I need to look into a sweet DSLR to feed my creativity. After writing this Canon Powershot S95 review, that might be something I'll have to look into.
